Ficus carica 'Bensonhurst Purple'

Also known as 'Chicago Hardy', this fig pushes the limit for cold tolerance of the species. Exotic looking foliage and large crops of sweet delicious figs are the reward. Best success at this latitude is likely in a large container but the stems are hardy to -10 F and roots are hardy to -20 F. With proper protection and siting it just might make it here in the Champlain Valley. Self fertile.
